In his role as Controller, James oversees all accounting functions at Touchmark. He works closely with Accounting staff in the company headquarters and all Touchmark communities to project costs, develop budgets, and track overall results.

James brings nearly 20 years of industry knowledge and experience to his position as well as an impressive record of accomplishment in team building, a keen eye for process enhancements, and an unwavering commitment to customer service and integrity.

Prior to joining Touchmark in 2019, he served as Senior Vice President of Accounting with Milestone Retirement Communities. Before that, he was Controller with Premier Senior Living. Other experience includes work at Oki Developments, Inc. in Bellevue, Washington, as Financial Reporting Manager and Emeritus Senior Living, in Seattle, where he advanced to Revenue Accounting Manager. He also was an Adjunct Accounting Professor at Portland State University, teaching General Business Accounting to undergraduate students.

James holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington—Foster School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Washington University. He is a licensed CPA.

Away from work, James loves spending time with his family, golfing (when it’s sunny), cruising classic car shows, and watching football with friends (go Seattle Seahawks and UW Huskies!).
